He served on the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense and was a part of the nation in various positions. Republicans as well as Democrats alike respect his honesty. Cheney believes his role in his position in the Bush Administration will be to serve as an open and discrete adviser. Cheney is adamant in accepting his nomination as the Republican vice president that he would like to serve with a presidential candidate who is willing to cooperate cross-partisanally and with political rivals with respect and in a common goal. Richard Bruce Cheney was born in Lincoln Nebraska on January 30 1941, the child of Richard Herbert Cheney and the former Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. At the age of 13, Richard Bruce accompanied his parents in Casper (in the US state of Wyoming) in Wyoming, where his father worked as the director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's land conservation districts.
