Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, (presently Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to receive a score of a perfect of 10 during the Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi who was the Romanian gymnastics coach who would become Comaneci's coach later in life found her around the age of six. Her first competition was at the national junior championships of 1969, finishing 13th. She took the title in 1970. Three gold medals were awarded in her very first contest at a junior Olympic meet in 1972 that was held by communist bloc countries. The following year, 1973 as well as 1974, she was the junior champion in all-round competitions. She won four gold and one silver medals at her debut competition as a senior, held in 1975. This was her first time she had competed as an adult. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first female to do the backward double salto in an unmounting from uneven parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen she began her career in the entertainment business performing as a figure skater. Along with her sister Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 at Chicago Illinois US. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry in her teens. She began her career by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling spectacle of entertainment. Ice Capades featured performances of ice-skating by actors.
