April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) started her journey in music in the 7th grade when she took guitar and piano classes. at the age of 12, April came up with her first original song Different. The singer spent much of her time when she was 14 making songs and practicing music. Then, in the following months, April began traveling with her father and to write songs either in NY or LA. April also began incorporating other relevant topics into the Take my Hand song for some close friends, like peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is a partner at popular cosmetics brand Ilia and also is a lifestyle blogger with a huge following of her own. She has a disability that is a component of her identity, but it's not the entire image. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't conceal her handicap, but it doesn't focus solely on the issue. It's a message. We are all more than just our physical self. The identities we have are complex and include a myriad of aspects. Lockhart in a video messages from his Nashville home, states that I don't wish for this to define me. I'm far more than just my physical self. The fact that she is a disability influencer doesn't impact my life. All is well and I've learned to adjust. This is also part of my life, and I think it's something that needs to be addressed. The journey of self-acceptance that Lockhart has taken is one that can last an entire lifetime. She can be a role model for this purpose. Yet, she confesses having moments that made her feel uncomfortable about her appearance as well as wearing clothes with arms. The woman now puts on whatever clothes she wishes and shares pictures on her Facebook page with pride. One of the keys to self-love for her is that it's not an end destination. This is, however, common for anyone who has insecurities. It is essential to surround yourself with people who can really know you.
